As defined in Article 07 of Executive Decree No. 98-68, INAPI is responsible for two main missions

• 1.Public Service Mission (for the State):: Implement the national industrial property policy
• 2. Support for innovators and economic actors, including:
  • The examination, registration, and protection of industrial property rights, including patents, trademarks, industrial designs, and geographical indications.
  • Facilitate access to technical information and provide the public with relevant documentation and resources within its areas of competence.
  • Promote, develop, and strengthen inventive and innovative capacity through both material and moral incentives.
